So, after months of not looking at the corpus and only lurking on rare occasions on the OTT (sorry, guys), I decided it is time to come back and try some new ideas. But, first, I will probably wrap everything up into some academic paper — my CV needs it, and it will hopefully bring more people on board.
If anyone wants to collaborate, please get in touch! 🙂

A few weeks ago I ran into an African Language written out the script reminded me of Cree, which reminded me of “Beanish” I searched for it, I don’t know if this is it though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bassa_language

There is indeed some graphical similarity, good eye! I haven’t done any work on Beanish for month, but the more I think about it, the more it seems likely that it is an abugida and not an alphabet. Which, of course, does not exclude the possibility for the graphemes of the Beanish script to have been copied by some little known African language.
